Attributions & third-party rights

Anatomy ICD-10 is built on classifications, ontologies and anatomical datasets owned by other organisations. Each is listed below with its rights holder, the licence it is used under, exactly what this service does with it, and any condition that licence imposes. Several of these notices are licence obligations rather than courtesies.

No endorsement or affiliation. Advanced Management Solutions is an independent company. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of any organisation named on this page, and nothing in this service should be read as suggesting otherwise. Where a classification or standard referenced here differs from what this service shows, the official publication governs.

Licence

CIHI permits its publications to be reproduced unaltered, in whole or in part and by any means, solely for non-commercial purposes, provided CIHI is properly and fully acknowledged as the copyright owner. Any reproduction or use for any commercial purpose requires CIHI's prior written authorization.

How this service uses it

Anatomy ICD-10 is a commercial service, so it does not reproduce this publication. It cites it: the coding standards section indexes each standard by title, chapter, page and revision history, and links the codes in the explorer to the standards a coder should read. The explanatory summaries are original text written for this product, not extracts from CIHI's. No code titles, tables, examples or wording are taken from the publication.

Conditions and limits

  • Reproduction or use that suggests endorsement by, or affiliation with, CIHI is prohibited. Advanced Management Solutions is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of CIHI, and nothing in this service should be read as suggesting otherwise.
  • Production of the source publication was made possible by financial contributions from Health Canada and provincial and territorial governments. The views expressed in it do not necessarily represent the views of Health Canada or of any provincial or territorial government — and nothing in this service represents their views either.
  • The authoritative text is CIHI's publication. Where this service and the published standard differ, the published standard governs.

How this service uses it

Sixteen of the seventeen structures in the 3D explorer are surface meshes segmented from whole-body MRI by this project, merged and simplified for web delivery. The resulting model file is a derivative work and is licensed CC BY-SA 2.1 JP.

Conditions and limits

  • The thyroid gland has no mesh in BodyParts3D 4.0. The shape shown for it is a parametric stand-in generated by this product, labelled as such wherever it appears, and is not segmented imaging data.

How this service uses it

Code values and titles shown in the explorer come from ICD-10-CM, the United States clinical modification published by the National Center for Health Statistics, which is a work of the U.S. government and is not subject to copyright there. They are not ICD-10-CA content.

Conditions and limits

  • ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-CA diverge below the three-character category level. Do not treat a code shown here as valid for Canadian reporting without checking it against ICD-10-CA.
