Conditions générales

Avis relatif au modèle. These terms are a starting template, not legal advice. Have them reviewed by a lawyer qualified in the governing jurisdiction before launch.

1. The service

Anatomy ICD-10 ("the Service") is an interactive 3D anatomical atlas and clinical classification reference operated by Advanced Management Solutions ("AMS", "we"). The Service maps anatomical structures to ICD-10 codes through published biomedical ontologies and presents coding guidance derived from recognised standards.

2. Not medical advice

The Service is an educational and coding-support tool. It does not provide medical advice, does not diagnose or treat any condition, and is not a medical device. Code suggestions are informational and must be reviewed by a qualified health information professional before being entered into a patient record, an abstract, or a claim. AMS accepts no responsibility for coding, billing or reporting decisions made using the Service.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You may sign in with email and password or with a supported third-party identity provider. Accounts are for named individuals; sharing credentials is not permitted.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

5. No charge

The Service is provided free of charge and is operated on a non-commercial basis. There are no paid plans, no subscriptions and no payment details are collected or held. We do not sell advertising on the Service and do not sell or licence user data.

Being free does not create an entitlement to the Service. We may change, suspend or withdraw it at any time. Should we ever introduce charges, we would give notice and, where required, obtain the further permissions described in section 6 before continuing to publish third-party content.

6. Third-party data and terminologies

The Service references the Foundational Model of Anatomy, SNOMED CT, WHO ICD-10 and derivative national modifications, anatomical meshes from BodyParts3D, and coding standards published by the Canadian Institute for Health Information. Each of these is owned by its respective rights holder and governed by its own licence. Your use of the Service does not grant you a licence to any of them. Where your jurisdiction or organisation requires a SNOMED CT affiliate licence, obtaining it remains your responsibility.

CIHI permits its publications to be reproduced unaltered, in whole or in part, solely for non-commercial purposes, provided CIHI is properly and fully acknowledged as the copyright owner. The Service is operated on that basis: it is free, non-commercial, reproduces CIHI content unaltered, and acknowledges CIHI wherever that content appears. Any commercial reproduction would require CIHI's prior written authorization. Where the Service and the published standard differ, the published standard governs.

Advanced Management Solutions is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of the Canadian Institute for Health Information, Health Canada, any provincial or territorial government, the World Health Organization, SNOMED International, or any other rights holder named in the Service. Nothing in the Service should be read as suggesting otherwise. A full list of attributions and licence conditions is published at the Attributions page.

The crosswalk is keyed on ICD-10-CM, the United States clinical modification, which is not subject to copyright in that country. ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-CA diverge below the three-character category level, so every code is additionally checked against the ICD-10-CA 2022 release and labelled as valid, withdrawn, or absent from ICD-10-CA. Codes marked as absent cannot be reported in Canada. Those labels are an aid, not a substitute for verifying a code against the classification yourself.

7. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, upstream terminology-service outages and events outside our control may interrupt access.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, interface and original editorial content are owned by AMS. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service while it is made available to you. Third-party classification content remains the property of its rights holders and is not licensed to you by us.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AMS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost revenue, lost data or reimbursement denials arising from use of the Service. The Service is supplied free of charge and is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent the law allows. Our total aggregate liability is limited to CAD $100. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms. You may close your account at any time; we will delete or anonymise your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect.
